Remove dust without unnecessary rubbing
Miniature guitars have fine details, sharp edges and sometimes small attached parts. For regular care, choose light dusting rather than vigorous cleaning. A clean, soft brush or a very gentle cloth removes dust from larger surfaces without putting pressure on delicate components.
Avoid all-purpose household cleaning products unless the materials and finish have been documented. A collectible miniature does not need to shine at any cost: the aim is to preserve its appearance, not alter its surface.
Handle the piece by its strongest areas
When moving a miniature, support it by the body rather than the neck or small accessories. This reduces stress on its most fragile elements. If you rearrange the display frequently, leave enough room to reach each piece without knocking into its neighbours.

Limit direct sunlight, humidity and large temperature changes
A collection is easier to preserve in a stable environment. Avoid exposed windowsills, places close to a heat source and rooms that remain humid. Even when the exact materials are unknown, these general precautions reduce unnecessary risks to finishes, adhesives and small assemblies.
Keep any information supplied with the miniature
If an item comes with packaging, a label or documentation, keep these separately in a clean place. They may help trace the miniature’s commercial origin or simply recover its details later. Though separate from the displayed object, they form part of its history within your collection.
Carry out a regular visual inspection
Every few months, take a quick look at your pieces: dust building up, a part that seems loose, a shifted stand or a display position now too close to a light source. This simple check is more effective than an occasional intensive cleaning session.
